Joseph Daniel Robinson, MD, Director of the American Health Advisory Center, has been practicing Internal Medicine for twenty years in Washington, DC, with appointments at the Georgetown University School of Medicine and the George Washington University School of Medicine as Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree at Princeton University in 1965 where he was a liberal arts major, and the Doctor of Medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine in 1970. For postgraduate education he was a resident at the Cornell-New York Hospital and Memorial-Sloan Kettering Medical Centers.
Dr. Robinson has done research in immunology as a Clinical Associate at the National Institutes of Health and as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Public Health Service. He also performed epidemiology studies for the public health departments of the State of California and New York City, and has done medical work for the World Bank, International Monetary Fund and United States Department of State.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. He is also a member of The American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the New York Academy of Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Explorers Club of New York.
Dr. Robinson's written commentaries on health matters have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, The Des Moines Register, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and The Atlanta Constitution.
He has traveled extensively in Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, South America and the Caribbean. Dr. Robinson has lectured widely and has appeared on national television and radio.
Jody Robinson is married to singer composer Potomac Red and is the father of four young children.
